HISTORY

Through the 3040 Presidential Decree of 2003 was created the Guaicaipuro Mission, which was attached to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the Executive Secretariat was assumed by Irene La Maitre.

2004 the Executive Secretariat is assumed by Ismael Marin.

2005 the Guaicaipuro Mission  becomes attached to the Ministry of Participation and Social Development.

2006 the Executive Secretariat is taken over transitionally by Simonei Tineo, fnd then formally assumed by Col. Gonzalo Millán.

2007 the Executive Secretariat is assumed by Mr. Freddy Fernandez.

September 2007 Arch. Alonso Morillo was appointed Executive Secretary of the Presidential Commission.

2008  the Executive Secretary of this Mission is assumed by Ms. Aloha Nuñez, in order to continue carrying the Guaicaipuro  Mission to every corner in the country, to settle in this way the more than 500 years of historical debt to the indigenous peoples .

NEW ERA

Within the deept of the new phase of the Bolivarian Revolution and the initiative of President  Commander Hugo Chávez Frías ,  08 January 2007 was created the Ministry of Popular Power for Indigenous Peoples, allowing the active participation of indigenous communities which assume the construction of their own destinies.

Thanks to the initiative of the Commander-President, is established the Partial Reform of Decree 5551 which created the Presidential Commission Guaicaipuro Mission in to Ordinary Gazette No. 38,758 dated 30 August 2007.

The Mission Guaicaipuro is under the Ministry of Popular Power for Indigenous Peoples who chairs and the Executive Secretariat is assumed by Atty. Aloha Nuñez.

MISSION
Coordinate, promote, articulate and feasible policies, plans, programs and projects of the Bolivarian government in order to operationalize and accelerate implementation in communities, townships and cities together with the community councils and organizations of indigenous people own the country, which contribute to settling the historical debt committed to the revolutionary construction process of large free and sovereign nation.


VISION
Being the executive of policies and projects for the indigenous peoples by including active and leading role in the process of socialist transformation of the nation and guarantee the fulfillment of their rights under the Bolivarian Constitution and other laws that recognize indigenous peoples and communities , defining the Venezuelan society as socialist, multiethnic and multicultural.


OBJECTIVE
Promote, develop and implement policies aimed at settling Bolivarian with national government authorities, the historical debt to indigenous communities organized by enforcing the National Plan Simón Bolívar, the perspective of a single project Bolivarian revolution and one President Commander one generating the greatest amount of happiness.
